Newburgh Free Library Collections at New York Heritage: This digital archive contains materials from the Newburgh Free Library’s Local History collections, including the 1978-80 East End Historic District Inventory photographs, the 1852-58 topographic maps by Edmund Blunt, the personal papers and writings of historian and Historical Society founding member Edward M. Ruttenber, the collected papers of architect Frank Estabrook, photographs from the 1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration, the nineteenth-century diaries of Newburgh resident James E. Horton, the history of the Newburgh Free Library, a sampling of the library’s early Newburgh Glebe documents, and documents and photos on St. Patrick’s High School.
Newburgh Heritage Collection at New York Heritage: This digital archive contains collections of scanned original documents and photographs on various aspects of the City of Newburgh’s history, including photos from Newburgh’s 1916 Property Assessment, Newburgh’s municipal records from 1782-1915, organizational records for the Fire Department and Newburgh churches, photographs from the 1958-66 appraisal inventory for urban renewal, and personal records for some of Newburgh’s Civil War veterans.
