Did you know that a century ago, there was a year-round vacation resort in Beacon inhabited by Jewish progressive liberals and Communist sympathizers? Its origins, activities, even its mysteries and sudden demise, make this vanished utopia one of the more intriguing stories in Dutchess County history.
