Cocktails and Collections at the Crawford House

Join us as we welcome Beacon Historical Society trustee Diane Lapis who will give a talk entitled “Nitgedaiget: Beacon's Vanished Utopia” on Thursday, August, 15, 2024 at 7 pm.

Did you know that a century ago, there was a year-round vacation resort in Beacon inhabited by Jewish progressive liberals and Communist sympathizers? Its origins, activities, even its mysteries and sudden demise, make this vanished utopia one of the more intriguing stories in Dutchess County history. Come and enjoy an evening with us at the Crawford House while sipping on a cocktail or mocktail. Light refreshments will be served and our gift shop will be open.
