Cocktails and Collections at the Crawford House

Artifacts reveal amazing stories if we are willing to invest a little research. That’s what the Society has been doing for the past year with its Cocktails and Collections series. Mary McTamaney will present at the Crawford House this Thursday, July 18th at 7 p.m. and she will showcase a beautiful Civil War presentation sword that has been wrapped and stored for generations.

The sword was made in Newburgh and presented to native son, Lt. Henry Powell Ramsdell. Lieutenant Ramsdell’s connection to his hometown and his amazing exploits on and off the battlefield in the perilous days surrounding the Battle of Gettysburg are the stuff of epic motion pictures. Come and enjoy an evening with us at the Crawford House while sipping on a cocktail or mocktail. Light refreshments will be served and our gift shop will be open.
