Growing Up In NewburghNewburgh Free Library

TO WATCH PROGRAM RECORDING- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob55NQoP0j0

The Historical Society of Newburgh is pleased to partner with the Newburgh Free Library to bring stories of forgotten Newburgh “around the table” in this Thanksgiving season.  On Sunday afternoon, November 21st, five community members will share memories and answer questions about old Newburgh through their perspectives of childhood.  Each panelist can recall the many places and activities that held their attention, the joys and friendships of their youth, as well as the fear of looming change in the neighborhoods that nurtured them.

Hosted by Historical Society board member, Alan Axelrod, panelists Genie Abrams, Wilbur Higgins, Gina Prokosch Cook and Barry Schuyler will recount their growing up years with City Historian Mary McTamaney as the moderator.

The program begins at 2 p.m. in the Library’s upstairs auditorium and there will be ample time allowed for questions.  To be seated with Covid protocols, you should register beforehand at https://newburghlibrary.libcal.com/event/8351229  Bring your own memories and join the conversation.
